Spring is in full swing here in sunny California, and I’m continuing my season of simplifying, organizing, and general de-cluttering of all the things. With four kids, two dogs, and a semi-regular habit of moving, I’m coming to terms with the fact that this is an ongoing (lifelong?) process that will never be fully DONE. I want to be okay (even content) with the less than perfect messiness of life, and to be grateful for what that means.
Life.

What an amazing giveaway! We live in Virginia where the weather is beautiful right now! The mornings are a little crisp, days are long & gorgeous around 60s-70s, & the evenings cool back down just a tad. I absolutely love spring!!!
The are in our home that needs decluttering the most right now is our basement. I’ve been working on our main living areas & bedrooms for a few months, so everything I needed to get out of the way just got thrown in the basement. Time to get to work!

Here in Manitoba, Canada, it is FINALLY warming up and looking beautiful. Even some green starting to pop up out of wherever it was hiding. My bedroom is the area that is usually in need of decluttering because it’s the place where stuff goes when the rest of the house needs to be tidy. 🙂

hi, The weather here in Minnesota is finally getting nice! Please no more snow storms in April! The spring bulbs are up and grass is turning green, which is making me very anxious to get out in the garden and yard, so much cleaning and organizing that needs to be done with all the garden tools and plants!! Not to mention the need to de-clutter and sort many many toys and things for a garage sale that I really want to have this spring. I will defiantly take a look at the video!

Hello Emily, I have always enjoyed both your artwork and your posts. I am in the far northwest corner of the continental US and Spring is moving along nicely here. There are some trees lining a street, do not know the name of, the bloom profusely with big fluffy puffy pink blossoms and it is so delightful to walk under them under a bright blue sky. As for decluttering,,,well, the room I am in could, maybe, use it. My office/craft room. I moved into my first little house two years ago and brought all this stuff with me, that I am going to do something with “someday.” Every time I think about getting rid of something I think, but I might do something with it…someday. and yes, contentment, a huge blessing. bless you!

I’m in central Oklahoma and we’ve been bouncing back and forth between rain and sunshine. That equals humidity. Our strawberries are LOVING it, though. We already have a handful of green strawberries about 1/4″ in diameter! Ready for those babies, for sure!!!! And my other garden areas need SERIOUS decluttering right now!

Hi! We have beautiful, warm sunny weather here in Cleveland, Tennessee! My three year old is playing outside on a slip’n’slide we found for $3 last fall (woohoo!). My five month old is napping in her swing, and we’re leaving soon to pick up big brother from school. Decluttering has been big on our brains lately, as we pray and plan about buying a house with my aging in-laws. Right now, every room in my house seems to need decluttering! But mostly our basement storage! Still full of stuff we moved out of the basement when we remodeled it last year. Whew. Not a job I look forward to at all!

It’s a beautiful partly cloudy day here in Hawaii. It’s 72 degrees and I’m still feeling a little chilly at the moment. My kids’ room is definitely crazy when it comes to clutter. I like keeping things clutter-free but it gets difficult when it’s not your room or your things. If I had my way there’d be a LOT less in that room. LOL!

It’s a beautiful sunny day here today – everything is blossoming! And I’m looking forward to planting our first garden at our new home!
The area that most needs decluttering right now is the basement – it’s become the dumping ground for the things we didn’t know what to do with during our rebuilding process after a house fire. Now that the work upstairs is complete, we are ready to declutter the basement so we can finish it to be our kids’ hangout place and family game and movie night space!

In Montana the grass is just starting to green and the trees just starting to bud. No leaves yet! It all sorta happens overnight here, between April and May. 60 degree weather is perfect for me though. I love the spring!

Here in Texas, normally I would say it is hot, but today it is dreary and raining–flash flooding–we had cars at the airport parking garage totally under water! We just got a new puppy–so I need to declutter–so she doesn’t chew on anything important! Also I need to declutter because I think it gives me anxiety and stress and sometimes can make me angry or agitated=—but there is just NOT ENOUGH TIME to do all the decluttering I need to do!

Weather is in the midst of that rainy and glorious transition from spring to summer. In MN that means sunny days mashed between days of rain and clouds — cool mornings and almost hot evenings. So much contradiction and a beautiful how be it at times wet waking of the world from it’s winter slumber.
We just moved into our first home from 15 years of condo and townhome living, so there is not a space that does not require some decluttering!! The garage is likely the worst. Being out of the everyday traffic patterns of our home, it has been the most neglected in the month that we have lived here. I would really love to park my car in the garage, so getting it cleared enough to do so and simultaneously find my summer yard tools and toys would be wonderful!!

I live in Thailand. This time of year is Hot Hot Hot!!! We have been having temps around 104F (40C) or more. So thankful for rain when it comes, and for AC!

Here in Northern Spain it has been sunny this week with some light rain in the afternoons. A pretty typical Spring along the coast. We are on Spring Break this week and just went for a beautiful hike. We moved overseas four years ago so did a lot of decluttering then, but things build up over time and we need to do it again!

Hi Hope! Here in Pennsylvania spring has sprung! Lots of rain lately, and a bit chilly, but it’s given way to beautiful flowering trees and green grass. Yay! As for decluttering…I’d love to tackle my craft supplies! Years of holding on to things because, well, I might just get around to making that project one day. My main challenges with clutter are in the areas of clothes, books and toys…which I have been working slowly through and making some progress. Hi! Where I’m from it’s been switching from really nice days and some snow, but hopefully the last about is gone. I just moved into a new home and we have a front garden that is overflowing with beautiful Hyacinth flowers, and a few tulips! Some bushes are starting to get leaves, but my couple of Rose bushes don’t look very promising yet. My area with the most clutter is definitely my craft room/office.
