Like many of you in California (and elsewhere), I woke up to the news of the tragedy last night in Thousand Oaks, where twelve people lost their lives. Later today, I found out that the daughter of my friend from high school was there when the shooting happened. I asked her if I could share this …

“Thankful she and her friends are safe! Thankful for the young men that tackled them down and pushed them to safety. She got out with some scrapes and bruises. Thank you to all who have reached out. She is flying home today and we get to hold her and love on her unlike the other parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters who won’t be able to do that. Prayers for the victims families and the officer who lost his life going in to protect and serve. Jesus is here and near in this most evil of acts – we thank Him for our daughter’s life spared and take refuge in Him. Psalm 23:4″

The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
for His name’s sake.
